Autumn Update

From soundings I have taken it has become clear that a number of members were still reticent to attend a Society Meeting at this time (even before the fuel crisis) and for that reason I propose to defer a meeting until Spring 2022. Hopefully this breathing space may also evidence an increase in membership to compensate the downturn suffered during the Covid Pandemic.

On a positive note our Magazine Editor is now back “in harness”, so to speak, and although not being medically cleared to resume screen-work in time to produce a September magazine issue has already started work on our December hard-copy issue which will be increased in size to 56 pages, which is the maximum number of pages that our Printer is able to reproduce in our current format.

Your Tyto issue will be posted to you in early December.

I am very keen that we should get back to assisting worthwhile owl conservation projects at the earliest opportunity and in the, I trust unlikely, event that we are unable to meet in the Spring I would propose holding a meeting over Zoom or similar web platform to discuss and agree conservation projects for us to support going forward.

Chairman
